Article: “NTU Death Fall” – ‘HOME’ Section (Pg B6)
Question 1:
What were some indications which showed that the victim was facing problems before he committed the rash act?
-He played computer games for hours and also stop replying his friends on MSN. His friends would sometimes give him concern but he might not always take themfor real. Normally he we stopped playing when exams are around the corner but thistime he would not care and continue to play.
Question 2:
(a)Is it very stressful being a student in Singapore? Explain.
-Yes. Because i feel that everytime singapore teacher gives us a lot of homework and sometimes we don't even have the time to finish it because back home we will still have tution teacher which gives us the same amount of homework. If we don't get good result you will be stress to hear parents complaining to us about why we don't get the grades they want, after all that we will be afraid that we might waste their money on our studies and we will also be worry that we might not be able to make them happy.
(b)What are some problems you face as a student which adds to your stress level?
-Some of the things that might be adding to our stress would be tutions and the hopes
which parents gives us as we will be afraid that we might not make it to what they
want.

Week 6 (9th March)
Article: “Help for single mums in downturn” – ‘Main’ Section (Pg A4-5)
Question 1:
What project was launched to help single mums? Briefly explain what is this project about?
-The project was "WeCare for U".It aims to reach out to divorces, widows and other single mothers who not only have a tougher time juggling work and family, but find it hard to get help, said Madam Suseela Singaram, a union leader and key driver of the project.
Question 2:
Imagine you come across a single mum who is unemployed, what are some advice you can give her? Who can she turn to?
-I could tell her to be a housewife which is much easier than working. She can turned to the program thyat was launched.

Question 1:
State any two reasons mentioned by students why extra tuition was necessary.
-It was needed to improve my studies.
-It was needed to re-cap what was miss in class.
Question 2:
Do you think it is necessary for you to have tuition? Why?
-No. Because I can study myself and i don't really get distracted in class.
